UAE plane detained for carrying undeclared arms
The plane, en route from Abu Dhabi to Hanyang in central China, landed at the international airport in Kolkata for refueling on Monday, but was not cleared for take off, Reuters reported.
Indian authorities said they have found arms on the plane which had not been declared before seeking permission to land.
"During the customary checking of plane by customs officials, a large cache of arms and ammunition was found stockpiled inside the craft," said an Indian Air Force official who did not wish to be named.
A customs official, meanwhile, said the aircraft's personnel "are being questioned by the customs officials."
It is not clear whether the plane would be returned to Abu Dhabi or be allowed to fly to China. PressTV
