Guantánamo inmate to sue over 'lost teen years'
Mohammed Jawad, a minor when detained by US forces in Afghanistan, was put on a US military plane and returned home this week after a US federal judge gave the government until August 24 to release him.
"The way forward right now is to avail the Afghanistan government and the US government of funding to help train him and get him back to normalcy," lawyer Major Eric Montalvo told a news conference in Kabul.
"If you've deprived somebody of their liberty for seven years, nobody's going to be happy about that. So to now then not give him any compensation -- any way to help him back to civilisation -- this is unacceptable. More
