Czechs march against U.S. radar base
The second such march was staged by the No to Bases initiative. The first march was organised two years ago.
Intensive protests against the radar as well as political discussion on the issue have subdued in the past few months because the new U.S. administration is very reserved about the plan of its predecessor.
The administration is also reassessing the project over the current economic crisis.
"We want to remind people that the radar issue is not yet by far decided. I would not like to again experience what I experienced in 2007 when the plan for the construction of the radar here was announced the day after the (Czech) government was appointed," Jince mayor Josef Hala (Communists, KSCM) told CTK.
