Pakistan Tribesmen fire at USS Terror drones
Tribesmen in different parts of North Waziristan tribal region fired at US drones with heavy and automatic weapons and forced them to go back Afghanistan, local Geo TV said.
Unmanned US planes have recently conducted a series of cross-border strikes inside Pakistan. The US blames Pakistan for not doing enough in fighting for its 'war on terror' and its inability to contain Taliban insurgency in the tribal belt.
The attack follows a string of such operations on Pakistani soil by the US-led coalition forces based in Afghanistan, which Islamabad has condemned as violations of its sovereignty. The most recent missile attack, on Sunday, into an alleged militant compound in South Waziristan, killed at least 20 people.
The pilotless aircraft usually armed with Hellfire missiles have killed dozens of Pakistani civilians in recent months. It is said that the planes have carried out more than 34 strikes and intrusions into Pakistan in the last seven months.
Pakistan's upper house Senate adopted a resolution this week condemning cross-border missile attacks by the drones.
Also, Pakistani government on Wednesday summoned the US ambassador to Islamabad over the missile attacks inside its territory. PressTV
