'Stop playing with Iran nuclear case'
Iran's provisional Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani |
"The West must stop its strange diplomatic scheme of passing Iran's nuclear case back and forth between the UN Security Council and the Group 5+1," said the provisional Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, as he addressed Iran's newly-formed eighth parliament on Wednesday.
"The eighth Majlis will not allow such deception to go on," he added.
The lawmaker described the recent IAEA report on Iran's nuclear program as 'regrettable'.
The latest International Atomic Energy Agency report has clarified that all the enrichment plant's nuclear material is under its inspection, as well as all the nuclear cascades, said Larijani.
The report indicates that the IAEA has not detected the use of nuclear material linked to any weaponization program, he added.
The report also says that the UN nuclear watchdog observes the status of Iran's heavy water production plant using satellite images, Larijani noted.
Larijani said the agency had used 'two-edged' statements in parts of the report, however, to 'enrich' the media coverage. Link
