Iran: We are set to repel any attack
"The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) can strike a fatal blow to the US and forever determine Iran's fate with its unpredictable moves and innovative tactics," said Deputy Head of Iran's Armed Forces General Headquarters Gholam-Ali Rashid.
Citing the 8-year war waged against Iran by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the major general affirmed that Tehran does not seek to fight another battle but would repel violators at all costs.
According to Rashid, one of the reasons the US invaded Iraq and Afghanistan was to intimidate Iran.
The US has intensified its hawkish rhetoric against Iran; some pundits believe the Islamic Republic may come under US attack in the near future.
While Washington accuses Iran of provoking violence in Iraq, it has failed to provide concrete evidence to prove its claims.
The White House also claims that Iran is carrying out plans to develop nuclear weaponry, an allegation that has been refuted by 16 US spy agencies in their 2007 National Intelligence Estimate and by the UN nuclear watchdog. FULL STORY
