Cuba Media Bares US Plot in Spain
Entitled "Secret Meeting among Gangsters," the daily states that the gathering was led by Caleb McCarry, Washington coordinator to materialize the Bush Plan against the island.
McCarry, the equivalent of Paul Bremen, the former US administrator in occupied Iraq, secretly visited Madrid and met with infamous terrorists and CIA agents at the US embassy.
According to news published in the "ABC" right-wing newspaper, the aim of the gathering with people like Carlos Alberto Montaner and Leopoldo Fernandez Pujals was not to give doctrines, but to "listen to interlocutors."
The publication stresses that the event was organized by US ambassador to Spain Eduardo Aguirre, known for his close friendship with George W. Bush and his continuous interferences in internal affairs of that European country.
The US agitator arrived in Madrid camouflaged, as part of a tour of Europe, aimed at obliging the European Union (EU) to preserve a hostile position on Cuba.
His visit takes place at a time when the EU and Cuba are getting closer, and Washington sees the danger that the denominated Group of 27 eliminate sanctions applied to the island, which are currently suspended.
The EU must review in June those unfair measures imposed against Cuba, which since their implementation in 2003 have called into question the Group's independent position as to this Caribbean nation. Link
