Did Diana die so that the arms trade could continue its murderous jamborees?
While I was wondering how such an inhumane carbuncle as an ‘arms fair’ has become acceptable in our society, I came across an interview given by Michael Mansfield QC.
At first glance it’s difficult to see the relation between the two events, but bear with me.
Mansfield was a main player in Diana’s inquest, representing Dodi’s grieving father, Mohamed Al Fayed. In this role, the QC spent months poring over the minutiae of events in Paris that fateful night.
As a result he is now convinced that Diana had a ‘credible and understandable basis for her belief’ that she would be bumped off, in some kind of road accident.
Mansfield says the jury in the case came to the same verdict; that Diana was ‘unlawfully killed’. And that ‘following vehicles’ played a key role in her death.
Quite why we all presumed that the vehicles referred to were those of the paparazzi is unclear. However the jury wasn’t referring to paps’ vehicles but to other vehicles – described by witnesses as tailgating and blocking the Mercedes’ path. More
